Necklaces

Not sure which necklace size to order? Use the list below as a guide to traditional necklace lengths for an average woman's body. Of course, everyone's preference for necklace length is unique, depending on body shape, preferred fit, and the style of necklace. For example, a delicate necklace will fit differently than a chunky one, and the exact length of a long necklace is not as critical as that of a short one.

Necklace Sizes

12-14 inches: around neck (choker)

16 inches: at neckline

18 inches: at collarbone

20 inches: a few inches below collarbone (mid-chest)

22-24 inches: at or just above décolletage

24 inches: just below décolletage

30 inches: a few inches below décolletage

36 inches: almost to waistline

How to measure your necklace size: The best way to determine the proper length to order is to measure a necklace you own in similar style. Another method is to drape a string around your neck, and to cut it once you have determined the length that suits you. Use that measurement as a guide to ordering the closest length available in the style of your
choice.

Please note that many of the short necklaces are adjustable from 16-18 inches, which are versatile lengths for most people. However, if you do not see the size you need on a product's listing, just contact us about special ordering a custom size. Additional charges may apply for custom sizes.

Tips on how to choose the right choker necklace:

Consider the length and width of your neck.

The longer and more slender your neck, the wider the choker you can wear while still looking appealing. If you have a shorter or wider neck, a choker is still a good option as long as you choose a slim one; otherwise, you run the risk of making your neck appear even wider.

A longer, more slender neck can wear chokers with more detail and gems; however, for a woman with a wider neck, it is best to go for something more simple and narrow.

Consider what you will be wearing.

Will it be a low cut or V neckline? If so then most detailed chokers will look good with this style of neckline.

Choose a color.

Don’t let your choker clash with your outfit. The best way to avoid this is to try to decide ahead of time which tops or dresses you may be wearing with your choker and try to pick a color that suits what is in your wardrobe.

A statement choker necklace is a great addition to your accessories that can breathe new life into old favorites and closet staples. Combined with something as simple as a t-shirt, a standout necklace becomes the focal point and makes something basic look fantastic. So you don’t necessarily need to go all out head-to-toe, you’re good to play down the rest of your outfit and keep it simple with the right focal piece.

Don’t be afraid to experiment with clothing with various necklines when considering statement chokers necklaces. V-neck tops or dresses instantly put chokers on display, but high necklines can create an unobstructed view and slightly scooped ones can have a framing effect that also looks great.

Bracelets

Make sure that your new bracelet fits you perfectly by measuring your wrist or a favorite bracelet before ordering. The average women's bracelet size is 7.5 inches, though we all know that wrists come in as many shapes and sizes as we do. Therefore, it is very important to double-check your wrist and bracelet size before ordering. Remember, your typical clothing size may not correspond to your wrist or bracelet size.

Small: 6 inches

Medium: 6.5 inches

Large: 7 inches

X-Large: 7.5 inches

XXL: 8 inches

Please note that the sizes above are actual wrist sizes ( 1 to 1.5 inches will be added as required to your wrist measurement—see below). If a
bracelet is either adjustable or has an extender chain, it will be noted in its product description. For beaded stretch bracelets a further option will be presented as the comfort level. This option will allow the individual to indicate preference on the how they want the bracelet to fit. The options will generally be snug, comfort, loose.

How to measure your bracelet size: Wrap a soft measuring tape or ribbon snugly (but not too tightly) around your wrist, just below your wrist bone. Mark the length, (cutting and/or measuring the ribbon with a ruler). This is your wrist size. (1 to 1.5 inches will be added to that measurement.)

Another measurement technique: simply measure a bracelet that fits you comfortably and is similar in style to the one you want to order. Remember, a chunky bracelet will fit you differently than a delicate one, and will need to be a bit longer to accommodate the width of the materials. Don't forget to measure the bracelet end-to-end, including the clasp.

Bracelet Ordering Tips

Still not sure about your size? When placing your bracelet order, keep in mind that it is better for a bracelet to be slightly loose rather than snug, and don't forget to consider what kind of bracelet fit is most comfortable for you (either tighter or looser). If your wrist is between sizes, we suggest that you round up to the next largest size. If you do not see your preferred bracelet size on a product's listing, just contact us about special ordering a custom size (see below for information about petite or plus sizing).

Please make sure to measure your wrist accurately before ordering, as there is $20.00 resizing fee for bracelets. If your bracelet needs resizing, it must be either partially or completely restrung or rewired. This takes the same amount of time and labor as making it the first time, and often requires using some additional materials.

Petite and Plus Sizes

We want everyone to be comfortable wearing Gothic Grace jewellery. If you need to order a necklace or bracelet in a size not listed on a product's listing, please contact us about placing a custom order.

As a guideline, a petite size would be 2 inches (or less) smaller than the
smallest size offered of a necklace or bracelet. A plus size would be approximately 2 inches larger than the largest size. Some additional charges will typically apply for labor and materials used to modify an existing style.

We will be happy to customize a piece of jewellery for you. If you have a particular design in mind and do not see it here on the website, please contact us with the details and we will work with you to create the piece to your specifications and satisfaction. Once the style, design, color, materials and price have been selected and approved, a deposit will be required before we begin. Photos will be emailed of the progress to ensure you can see how the piece is developing. This will allow you to see your special piece of jewellery during the creating process! Once your jewellery piece is completed, a final photo will be emailed to you for your approval. You will be required to approve the final photo and agree to pay the outstanding balance at that time. The item will then be posted on the website as a reserved custom order and you can proceed to checkout. Once final payment has been received, it will be shipped to you with tracking within 3 business days.

All Gothic Grace jewellery is designed to sustain normal light wear. Any individual links are generally not soldered so they will not sustain unreasonable force.

​Please be aware that beads may discolor over time. Silver by its very nature will tarnish over a period of time due to exposure of salts on the skin, soap, perfume, deodorants, air pollutants. We recommend that you use a special silver jewellery cleaning cloth which will clean your jewellery and guard against excessive tarnishing.

Some gemstones used are porous. The use of certain cleaning products, salts on the skin, soap, perfume, body lotions or deodorants can therefore spoil their appearance if exposed to these elements.

Lace chokers:

Generally, cleaning should be a last resort - so don't do it until it is absolutely necessary. DO NOT DRY CLEAN - just dip a cloth in very diluted mild detergent (the same type you use for lingerie/delicate). Woolite), dab gently, and allow the choker to dry flat on a towel in a warm place. Never wring or scrub - be gentle! Dab lace gently in a downward motion, do not sweep horizontally across the lace or you may pull it out of shape.

Jewellery should always be stored out of direct sunlight and not immersed in water.

Every effort is made to ensure descriptions are correct, and photos represent the items listed as accurately as possible, however slight color and size differences can occur between batches of beads and your computer monitor setting. Product descriptions such as 'gold', 'silver', 'copper', etc are subjective color descriptions and do not necessarily relate to the actual materials. Sterling Silver items will be clearly stated as such.

Gothic Grace handmade jewellery is designed for adults, in size and in structure. All jewellery pieces contain small parts and they are not designed for children to play with. These small parts can present a choking hazard to young children.

Magnetic clasps are a great way to easily secure bracelets. Some of the jewellery pieces have magnetic clasps for the convenience and clean line. However, those who have pacemakers should not wear any magnetic catches or beads.

Most of our items are Limited Edition pieces. These styles are made in small batches and can can only be restocked depending on availability of required components.

All orders are shipped from Canada. We offer delivery within Canada, the USA and Australia. We also ship to various other international countries, however we no longer ship to the EU or the UK. If using PayPal, please verify that your PayPal address is correct on PayPal as this will be the address to which your order will be shipped. All shipping charges include postage, packaging and handling.

All customs charges, duties and taxes on international shipments are the responsibility of the buyer.

Your order will be carefully packaged in a lovely gift bag or gift box ready for gift giving. It will then be shipped in a bubble envelope to ensure its safe arrival.

​Tracking is not provided for standard shipping. When tracking is included, a tracking number will be sent to you when confirmation of shipping is sent. If you would like to upgrade your order from standard shipping to tracked packet, please contact us.

All of the jewellery on this site is designed and handmade in-house. Once payment is made, your order will be processed and ready to ship within 1 to 2 business days. Customers are responsible for any border custom fees and VAT, if applicable.

Your satisfaction is very important to us. If you are unhappy with a purchase, please contact us within 7 days of receipt of item and we will make every attempt to correct the issue. Should a return be agreed upon, the item must be returned unworn, in its original condition and in similar packaging before the refund is issued. Please note that only the price of the item will be refunded upon arrival to seller. Buyer must contact us prior to returning the item, so we can discuss the details.

Any unauthorized returns will not be accepted.

All orders will be processed and notification of being shipped will be sent to the email address provided. All regular orders may be cancelled for a full refund if cancelled prior to the shipping notification sent. If you would like to cancel and the order has been shipped, please contact us as soon as possible as the item will have to be returned for refund less all shipping charges.

Cancellation of custom orders is accepted as long as it is cancelled before work has begun. Once the custom order is started, refund will not apply.
